Questions, answered.

How finding, joining and hosting games works.

  • How do I find games near me?
Open Games & Events, set your ZIP and how far you'll go, and pick a kind of game or a day. Each game shows when, where, who's at the table and how many seats are open. For tonight, Pick-Up Games lists tables people have just opened.
  • Is it free?
Finding games, joining free ones and keeping your group are free. Some games cost money: the host or store sets the price, and you pay when you take the seat.
  • How do I take a seat?
On a game's page, take the open chair. Some hosts pick each player: then you ask for a seat, answer the host's question if there is one, and the host says yes or not this time.
  • Where's the game if it's at someone's home?
You see the area until the host says yes. Then the street shows on the game page, for you and the other players at that table.
  • How do I host a game?
Sign in and choose "Switch to hosting" to set up a game: what, when, where and how many seats. Or start a pick-up table on Pick-Up Games when you want to play today.
  • What if I can't make it?
Give up your seat on the game page, so someone on the waitlist can take it. In a campaign, answer "Can't make it" for that session.
  • What games are on Gameclave?
Any tabletop game: RPGs, board games, card games and miniatures. Hosts and stores say which game they run.
  • Who sees my name and details?
Your name shows to your group: people you sit with, play a campaign with, or agreed to play with through Looking For Group. Everyone else sees your figure without a name. You choose who sees your profile from your profile page.
  • Can I stop someone messaging me?
Yes. In Message Center, open the private conversation and choose "Stop messages". They can no longer write to you there.
